Zamurd Enterprise is a dynamic and innovative team of three young entrepreneurs from Balochistan, Pakistan, committed to creating sustainable and eco-friendly solutions. Founded by Bilal Ahmed from Quetta and Salal from Turbat, their core idea revolves around developing biodegradable plastic bags integrated with an expiry-sensing mechanism to revolutionize the plastic industry and promote environmental conservation.
Their journey began with the Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge 3.0 by UNICEF and SoLF as IP, a prestigious global competition promoting youth-led entrepreneurship. Their groundbreaking idea earned them a place among the top 11 teams, leading to participation in an intensive digital and in-person boot camp in Islamabad (March 2022). Their dedication and innovation secured them a position among the top 5 teams, winning seed funding to develop their prototypes.
Following this achievement, the team underwent three months of expert mentorship, refining their formulas and developing functional prototypes of biodegradable plastic bags and sensing sheets. Their efforts earned them a place among 80 teams from 40 countries at the global level of the competition, where they emerged as Global Winners. This victory provided them with additional seed funding and a one-year mentorship program to further develop and scale their business.
