Bio
The Hifazat Application is a pioneering digital initiative by UNFPA Pakistan and School of Leadership Foundation (SoLF) aimed at bridging critical gaps in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Pakistan. Given the societal taboos, limited access to credible information, and gaps in healthcare services, the app serves as an essential resource to educate and empower individuals. Covering key topics such as puberty, pregnancy, parenthood, menstrual health, mental health, family planning, peer pressure, gender-based violence, and child sexual abuse, Hifazat not only provides reliable information but also fosters awareness and advocacy.
The Hifazat App was successfully launched on 6th December 2024, receiving strong endorsements from government ministries, UNFPA, and civil society stakeholders, highlighting its potential to address SRHR awareness gaps. The launch event emphasized the need to enhance accessibility, with suggestions for developing offline functionality to support rural communities and ensure equitable access. Additionally, constructive feedback from stakeholders, including content localization, provided valuable recommendations for the app’s future development and expansion.
By tackling stigma and enabling informed decision-making, the Hifazat App aspires to revolutionize SRHR accessibility and understanding across Pakistan.
